Melissa Steckbauer
UntitledAcrylic On Paper
24 x 18 cm
Melissa Steckbauer (*1980 in Germany) studied Fine Art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In her work, the paper becomes an “image-bearer”, a delicate support, a lace of emotions. Steckbauer’s works are filled with the people in her direct proximity and through her work she spreads their voices, bodies, and these consequent relationships like seeds. However, her work is not as much about intimacy as it is about an idea of sharing, in a physical, psychological, and silent way.
