Franz Böhlke’s artwork is a mixture of different media, all of which are used in equal standing; personal messages and notes sit alongside blown up scans, photography and paint gestures. The cut and paste approach of the early internet years manifests itself in a physical form; scattered and rearranged until a striking harmony is found between the forms.

Description

Biography
Born in Weimar in 1989, Franz Böhlke studied fine arts with a focus on painting at Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (HfbK Hamburg). His art work is a mixture of different media, all of which are used in equal standing: personal doodles and notes sit alongside blown up scan or photography and expressive paint gestures. The cut and paste approach of the early internet years manifests itself in a physical form; scattered and rearranged until a striking harmony is found between the forms. After his graduation in 2018 he moved to Berlin where he currently lives and works.
