UnterderHand, 2020
Oil on Canvas, 100 × 140 cm

The painting „Unter der Hand“ shows two alike figures. While depicting a close encounter through a reaching hand, it is left unclear as to how much distance is between them. I am interested in capturing tender states between moments and the duality that can be found within them. The two figures in opposing directions and the shared appearance, the closeness of the bodies and the distance through their clear separation and the detailed renderings of the figures and the vagueness of their surrounding.
