Rush Hour

Description

The South Korean artist Nanhee Kim (*1993) lives and works in Hamburg. Kim’s work derives a lot of jokes and absurdity from conversations with her friends, movies and images which went viral on social media. She creates colourful translations of inputs and makes humorous compositions from her interpersonal narratives. “Rush hour” and “Untitled” offer a glimpse into Kim’s characteristic visual language. Through heightening the personal association and experience of the situation she creates colourful, surrealistic sceneries. She recently completed her Masters degree in painting at HFBK Hamburg with Professor Anselm Reyle. Her work has been exhibited in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and China.
