In collaboration with our friends at ArtConnect, we are happy to announce that we’re now open for submissions for our upcoming Spring art auction, opening on April 15. Financial support for artists continues to be more important than ever, and the auction format allows us to work with the community to address this in a direct way. The open call approach plays a vital role in our discovery of new artists, with previous auction participants going on to have solo shows at Weserhalle.

What’s the deal?

Selected artists will have their work exhibited in a curated group show at Weserhalle, an intimate gallery space in the heart of Neukölln, as well as professional installation photography, work descriptions, and brief artist bios. Additionally, all works will be accessible for purchase via the online auction at, with participating artists receiving extensive exposure and promotion through both the Weserhalle and ArtConnect networks.

How does it work for you?

10 artists will be selected from the ArtConnect community, with up to 25 additional artists selected from the general public. In order to support the selection process, Weserhalle has put together a panel of 3 guest curators: Cibelle Cavalli Bastos, Simon Mann, and Nina Barret (more info on these folks to follow).

All selected artworks will start at 0€ with no minimum price: we realise that this is a risk, but in our experience, by making the art accessible to everyone in our network encourages greater participation and often yields surprisingly positive results.

How does it work for us?

When submitting an entry to the auction, the artist will have the opportunity to choose the percentage of the final sales price for donation to the gallery. Weserhalle will use these funds to ensure its ongoing programme.
