Our Final Open Call

For the last eight years, our open call art auction has been an important part of Weserhalle’s program, connecting new collectors with emerging artists. We’ve loved watching it grow, and working alongside curators including Matthias Arndt, Norbert Bisky, Jochen Mühlenbrink, Navot Miller, Anna Meinecke and Johanna Dumet. And now, it’s time for its next exciting chapter. Before we evolve, we are happy to host one final auction under the Weserhalle name. This is a special event to celebrate our roots and the community that built this auction. We invite all artists to be part of this final farewell and new beginning.

A New Beginning: Announcing Openhalle

This auction isn’t just an end; it’s a evolution. As our open call auction has grown, it’s ready for its own dedicated identity and space. We are excited to announce that following this event, our auction is evolving with a new name: Openhalle. This new identity and dedicated space will allow us to make these opportunities more regular and accessible.

This change also allows Weserhalle (the gallery) to sharpen its focus, continuing with its proactive, curated program of solo and group exhibitions. The auction’s spirit will live on and expand as Openhalle, while Weserhalle continues to thrive with its distinct curatorial mission. We can’t wait to celebrate this final Weserhalle auction with you before we embark on the new adventure as Openhalle.
