Leo Luccioni

Born 1994 in France, lives and works in Brussels

Leo Luccioni works across installation, sculpture, printmaking and drawing, addressing an ambiguous relationship with consumer culture. He takes standardised everyday products and commercial symbols, from corporate logos to brand slogans, strips them of their context and recasts them in precious or fictional forms, such as gas cylinders turned into meditation instruments. Luccioni borrows the strategies of capitalism itself, including counterfeiting, outsourced production and advertising, to expose the absurdity of mass production and the promise of happiness through goods. The work pairs a colourful pop aesthetic with deadpan humour.
