Max Siedentopf
Born 1991 in Tegernsee, grew up in Windhoek, lives and works in London
Max Siedentopf is a conceptual artist working across sculpture, installation, photography and video. He turns everyday objects and familiar formats, such as passport photos, garbage bags, football shirts and cardboard, into absurd and often funny interventions that question consumerism, identity and social expectations. Toto Forever, a solar-powered sound installation in the Namib Desert, plays Toto's Africa on an endless loop. Zeitgeist, a hyper-realistic sculpture of an elderly man who has painted himself into a corner of the gallery, pictures a society hemmed in, politically and environmentally, by the consequences of its own actions.
