Born in Bryansk, Russia, and currently living and working in Istanbul, Türkiye, Aks Misyuta has quickly established a significant international presence. Recent solo exhibitions include Best Before at Peres Projects, Seoul (2024) and Lazy Self Embrace at Art: Concept, Paris (2023). The artist’s work is held in numerous distinguished public and private collections, including the Public Collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Buenos Aires, the Pictet Collection, Geneva, and the Hort Collection, New York.

He goes backward, looks forward is a new exhibition by Georg Haberler, taking its title from a quote by Ursula K. Le Guin. The phrase, which describes a porcupine’s approach to observing its surroundings, symbolizes a strategy of looking back to understand the present before moving forward. This concept of self-preservation and careful consideration is a central theme in the artist’s new work.

His work has been exhibited widely in both solo and group exhibitions. Recent presentations include Spark Artfair (Vienna, 2025), Art Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf, 2025), Salondergegenwart Group Show (Hamburg, 2024), Kannst du mich halten at Mario Mauroner Contemporary Art (Salzburg, 2024) and Kleiner Fuß im großen Schuh, Jo Van De Lo Gallery, München (2024).
